Today we are going to talk about two of the most important words that you can use in your life.
Have you ever thought about how you speak to yourself?
Would you speak to your child or your best friend like that?
The two most powerful words you can use are I AM, for what comes after them is what defines who we think we are.
James Allen had the saying “As a man thinketh, so is he; as he continues to think, so he remains.”
As long as we think about ourselves in a certain way we’re not going to change, and it’s up to us to make that change within. I love Louise Hay’s saying of,
“It’s only a thought and a thought can be changed,”
but it’s up to us to make the conscious decision to make that change.
I’d like to make a challenge to you to pay attention to the things you say about yourself. The
“I’m so clumsy …”
“I’m stupid …”
“I’m no good at … maths, numbers, art …”
“I’m not creative …”
and write them down.
Spend one day writing down all the things that you say that you are. All those I AM statements that you make, and then reflect on those statements.
Work out WHO you want to be and how you can change who you think you are to who you want to to be.
Create new I AM statements for you to focus on.
Take the time to write those statements out daily as part of your morning ritual. Remind yourself every single morning who you really are and who you want to become.
At the end of the day, write them out again so that the last thought in your mind before you go to sleep is of the person that you want to become and who you believe that you are.
Say them out loud. Say them with feeling. Say them when you’re driving along in the car.
“I am awesome”
“I am powerful”
“I am amazing”
“I am loving”
“I am kind”
Whatever you want to be, say those words. Say them with emotion. It doesn’t matter if the people driving past think you’re a bit crazy. They don’t know that you’re talking to yourself. You could be singing along to the radio. Make a song out of them. Whatever works for you so that you can instil in you, your new beliefs.
You change your words and I promise you, you will change your life.
I’d love to hear about the changes that you make in your life by making just this one simple change in the way that you speak to yourself.
Share below the I AM that you are going to create for the person that you want you to become.
